The 2025 Taos uses a revised 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that increases output to 174 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, up from the prior year’s figures, enhancing acceleration and responsiveness without compromising fuel economy (up to about 36 mpg highway in FWD models). AWD versions also benefit from a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission replacing the previous dual-clutch unit.
